My, oh, my I have to tell you that these were delicious. I felt like I was eating out at an Asian restaurant! The hubs was so sweet and made these for me while I was at work and the presentation with the green onions was flawless! We ate these with edamame & some fresh fruit for a well-balanced meal.
These would also make a great appetizer! You could make your meatballs from scratch or take the easy route and use the frozen ones like we did. Obviously, if you did do homemade meatballs they’d probably taste even better. Enjoy this recipe as a quick and easy solution on a weeknight that calls for some comfort food!
Ingredients:
Frozen Meatballs
1 cup apple juice or pear nectar
1/4 c teriyaki sauce
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar (clearly not clean)
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
6 green onions, chopped
Directions:
Bake meatballs in oven as package directs. In a small bowl, combine apple juice, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, & cayenne pepper. Cook & stir juice mixture until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more, then put cooked meatballs into skillet to heat through and coat with sauce. Transfer glazed meatballs to a serving dish. Top with green onions.
