This week I have been sick so I just ran to the grocery store with no coupons in hand. Can you believe it?! I probably haven’t shopped without coupons for our week’s worth of groceries in over a year. I just went online, looked at the sales items and made my list from that. I bought 1 item that wasn’t on sale-bananas. I spent $29.15 on these groceries and saved $17.52. I was well under budget but since I’m not doing much cooking this week, we’re pretty much just eating off of what we have in our pantry/freezer/leftovers from Easter.
The Takeaway? You can still save money on your groceries even if you don’t have time to coupon. Simply purchase what is on sale that week and be flexible enough to plan meals around the sales ad. Sometimes that can be a lot of work though which is where eMeals comes in. eMeals does a great job helping you budget your dinners and plan around what’s on sale…not to mention the fact you are told what to cook instead of having to figure it out yourself!

I know I didn’t get around to putting up a post from last week’s grocery run so here’s the picture and details on it. I was in charge of bringing dessert and rolls to Easter dinner this year and since both the Edwards pie and the Alexia rolls were on sale I bought those. I also wanted to make our 15 Minute Asparagus Pasta so I bought the ingredients I needed for that and Cheeseburger Soup. Both turned out fantastic!
On the shopping trip I made last week, I went over budget by $10 so I’m glad I came in $10 under this week. The pictured groceries above cost me $50.13 and I saved $56.80. I had free item coupons for the Purex laundry pacs, $3 off any half gallon of milk Publix coupon, and a manufacturer’s coupon for $1 off milk when you bought Special K. Those were the highlights of this trip in my opinion.
