Many of you know that one of the first money saving blogs I ever discovered was Money Saving Mom. I was enthralled with the thought of being a good steward of the money that God has given us, saving as much as we can, and still having fun and giving back. After reading Money Saving Mom’s blog now for over two years, I was thrilled when I heard that she was writing a book and then even more thrilled when she, Crystal Paine, was going to let us get a preview copy to review and allow us to host a giveaway.
I devoured this book, reading it in two days, while we were on Christmas vacation up in Indiana with my husband’s family. The book was not only full of good tips for newbie couponers but was inspiring for me as a veteran couponer as well. I took several things away from the book and felt inspired to clean out the clutter in my budget and house.
This book addresses not only using coupons to lower your grocery bill, reducing debt, setting goals, and saving money but also gives real life examples from Paine’s life or from her many readers’ lives. I really appreciated this book because it deals with reality. Not everyone can coupon, not everyone is going to go to absolute extremes, but setting goals and doing a budget…that’s attainable.
If you are desperate for ways to save money and rearrange and get rid of excessive clutter/chaos in your life this is a must read.
Paine uses her own experience of living on less than $1,000 a month the first few years of her marriage to show readers that they will get further by being appreciative for what has been given to them, rather than thinking about all they don’t have.
Best of all, Paine is donating 100% of her proceeds from the sale of this book to Compassion International, a Christian child advocacy ministry. Compassion International helps more than one million children in twenty-six countries. Eric and I have a sponsored child through Compassion and our church is very involved with this ministry as well. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance. I must say you have done a amazing job with this. In addition, the blog loads super quick for me on Firefox. Exceptional Blog!

We use coupons, keep an inventory of what we have in stock, plan our meals and work it so one day of cooking makes 2 days of meals.
