You may remember that last Thanksgiving we made this Coconut Praline Cream pie in a family pie contest. We tied for 1st place with Eric’s brother and sister so we had a re-vote and got 2nd place after that (DH’s parents got 3rd).
Well last night we were vindicated when our pie won best dessert at our small group Thanksgiving party. The pie turned out great as always, and I thought you guys may want some dessert ideas for Thanksgiving.
The pie has a slightly crunchy praline layer with pecan bits, is topped with a creamy coconut layer, and is topped with hand whipped airy whip cream. DELISH!
We are making another one of these pies for my family Thanksgiving on Thursday and I can’t wait for round 2! The only change I’d make to our recipe is to make a thinner layer of the pralines, there needs to be less pecans so there’s more room for the yummy coconut layer.
