A Nasty Little Problem….

And indeed it is….wait, what’s that? It’s not so little?  It’s astounding to learn that America still has slavery to this day. Slavery that enthralls men, abuses girls, and leaves many empty and broken hearted.

I just learned about how prevalent sex trafficking really is when I heard this sermon at church about a month or so ago.  I would encourage you to listen to this sermon by David Platt at The Church of Brook Hills entitled, “What About Slavery, Paul?” from 10/2.

It is jaw dropping and disturbing what goes on all around us.  Oh Lord, the more we learn let us pray all the more for those situations.  There is so much more accountability once you know to be praying, helping, seeking the Lord’s will in what you are to do to stand up, to do something, to fight for those who cannot help themselves.

I know this is a bit on the heavy side but it sickens me to think about girls being abused, sold, and traded in this way.  I know it breaks my heart, but how much more must it hurt God to see his children treated in this way?  I just stumbled upon this video for this new documentary that is coming out from a friend’s blog and am very interested to watch it.

Ephesians 4:25
“Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth, each one of you, with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.”

May each one of us, brothers and sisters in Christ, build one another up, hold each other accountable & do whatever the Lord leads when we learn of things like this such as praying, spreading the word of injustice to others and seeking Him in all we do.

Things like this really do remind us how much we have to be thankful for!

Colossians 3:16
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”
