Bourbon Chicken-One of my Top 5 Recipes

DH told me this is one of his top 5 favorite meals I’ve made. Pretty impressive, right? Especially since you’re looking at this puny little picture. I got the recipe of my E-Mealz Publix for 2 menu and honestly didn’t expect it to be that great since it was just a bunch of staple pantry items so once I realized how awesome it was and that we should document it for the blog…..well, as you can see there weren’t many leftovers.
It was a little bit spicy, but you could definitely put in less of the red pepper flakes. DH said it tasted like something you’d get at P.F. Chang’s. My, oh my what a compliment, right?! I hope you guys love this recipe as much as we did!
Ingredients:
1 T olive oil
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast cutlets, cut into bite-size pieces
1/8 t garlic powder
1/8 t ginger
½ t crushed red pepper flakes
1/8 c apple juice
¼ c brown sugar
1 T ketchup
1 t cider vinegar
1/4 c soy sauce
1/4 c water

Directions:
Heat oil in a large skillet. Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned. Remove chicken. Add remaining ingredients, heating over medium Heat until well mixed and dissolved. Add chicken & bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Yeah, it really is that simple….we are already having it again this week because we liked it so much!
