This little gem of a dinner was original, healthy, and devoured the next day for lunch by DH & I.  This is another E-Mealz recipe that we had a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you; I am a big fan of this one. Who knew that pitas made a great pizza crust?


Ingredients:
12-16 oz lean ground beef
1 t minced garlic
1/4 c yellow onion, finely chopped
1 T olive oil
3 T parmesan cheese
4 slices turkey bacon
2-3 pitas, sliced in half to make crusts (but we did them whole)
Olive oil cooking spray
Garlic Salt
1/2-3/4 c shredded mozzarella cheese


Directions:
In skillet, brown beef, garlic & onion. Drain. Set aside in small bowl. Cook bacon in skillet; then crumble. Return bacon to skillet w/ meat, salt, olive oil & parm cheese. Toss well. Spray “crusts” w/ cooking spray; sprinkle w/ garlic salt. Broil to toast lightly. Spread some beef mixture on each crust; top w/ mozzarella cheese. Return to oven; broil until cheese is melted and slightly browned. Serve & enjoy; so good! I actually had some marinara sauce in our pantry as well, so I popped some in the microwave and dipped pieces of the pizza in it and it made it even better!

PS I keep realizing more and more how much I need a legit camera even though I think they’re super annoying to tote around.
