I just had to share with everyone my new favorite kitchen tool, the Vacu Vin Pineapple slicer! My wonderful blog partner, Heather, gave me one as a graduation gift since she knew I had been dying to try it out, and the results were amazing! Here is how it works:
First, you cut the top off of the pineapple. You place the Vacu Vin in the center, and twist it clockwise into the pineapple- it isn’t hard work at all! Once it is all the way at the bottom, you simply pull it out, and voila- beautiful circles of pineapple! It cores it for you, and helps you avoid having to cut away the outer part of the pineapple. With about a minute’s work you are done.
Now really- how cool is that?

ha! you see, i love this. i love that you posted about this. The boyfriend doesn't think this exists! i have told him about it, but he thinks this is some dream device i have made up. it seems simple, is it simple? this is exciting!
It is so simple!! And easy- I was afraid that turning it into the pineapple would be hard, but it is so easy. A much quicker way to deal with a pineapple, plus it is so much cheaper to cut your own than to buy it pre-cut (but I never wanted to deal with it before!) You'll have to show your BF the pics to prove its existence- maybe he'll buy you one too!
I love fresh pineapple and I've been looking at these for awhile now. I think it's time to get it.
